About the Scavenger Hunt in
The city of Mobile, Alabama was founded in 1702 by the French. The city still has a large French influence and is the oldest city in the state of Alabama today. The city is also the main port facility for its region. In Mobile, you'll find the USS Alabama Battleship, which is anchored at Battleship Memorial Park, the Mobile Museum of Art, the historical 1850s Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, and the Mobile Carnival Museum, which displays floats, costumes, and photos that show off Mobile's tradition of Mardi Gras. Downtown Mobile, you'll find French inspired architecture, parks, hotels, bars and restaurants, shopping, and theatres.
